Co-working
Purpose
To ensure the co-working space remains a clean, quiet, and productive environment for all users. This protocol outlines guidelines for using the shared space respectfully and responsibly.
General Guidelines
1. First-Come, First-Served:
• The co-working space operates on a first-come, first-served basis. No spots or screens are ever "mine"
• Be mindful of others and share the space fairly during busy times.
2. Respect Quiet Hours:
• Keep noise to a minimum to maintain a focused environment.
• Use headphones for phone calls or listening to audio.
3. Cleanliness:
• Leave the space as you found it (or better).
• Clear your workspace of papers, cups, or personal items when you leave.
• Wipe down shared surfaces (e.g., desks, tables) after use if needed.
4. Personal Belongings:
• Keep your belongings contained to your workspace to avoid cluttering shared areas.
• Do not leave personal items unattended for long periods.
Using Shared Resources
1. Wi-Fi and Power Outlets:
• Connect to the shared Wi-Fi responsibly and avoid activities that consume excessive bandwidth (e.g., large file downloads or streaming).
• Use power outlets only when needed, and avoid monopolizing multiple outlets.
2. Printer and Stationery:
• Use the shared printer sparingly and for essential tasks only.
• Return pens, markers, or other shared stationery to their designated spots after use.
3. Kitchenette:
• If the space includes a kitchenette, wash any dishes or utensils you use immediately.
• Label any personal food or drink items left in the shared fridge.
Collaboration and Community
1. Shared Space Etiquette:
• Be mindful of your neighbors and keep conversations low in volume.
• For longer discussions, move to a designated meeting area or outdoor space if available.
2. Resource Sharing:
• If you notice supplies running low (e.g., printer paper, pens), notify the co-working steward or restock from the shared supply cabinet if available.
3. Feedback Loop:
• Share any concerns or suggestions for improving the space with the community during meetings or via the feedback system.
Safety and Maintenance
1. Safety First:
• Familiarize yourself with emergency exits and protocols.
• Report any hazards, spills, or broken equipment to the maintenance steward immediately.
2. Lighting and Air Conditioning:
• Turn off lights, fans, or air conditioning when leaving if you are the last person in the space.
3. Routine Cleaning:
• The space will undergo a weekly deep clean to maintain hygiene and functionality. Users are expected to contribute to this effort as part of the community’s shared responsibilities.
Why This Matters
By following this protocol, we:
• Create a productive and harmonious environment for all users.
• Maintain the co-working space as a resource that benefits the entire community.
• Foster a culture of respect, cleanliness, and collaboration.
Let’s work together to keep our co-working space inspiring, functional, and welcoming for everyone!
