What to Expect
You are becoming an active member of a temporary community, as such you are expected to participate in its co-creation and success, being respectful towards each other, signal issues and actively participate in the betterment of the community and the commons.
Depending on the time of the year, we might only have shared rooms available. Rooms are assigned first-come first-served, but we do give priority to longer stays and twin beds to families, elders and couples.
Before your arrival, we will agree on a set of “micro-agreements” that describe how you will contribute in order to have the most meaningful and functional exchange of capital during your stay. This contribution can be done using one or more of the 8 forms of capital, depending on your possibilities and time availability.
If you buy food or any other item for your personal consumption, you can label this so that everyone knows that food it’s just for you to consume.
Stores and restaurants are about 10 minutes away by car. Feel free to share what you cook with others whenever you wish to, but remember that gifting means you do not expect anything in return.
You are expected to actively contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the private and common spaces. This to avoid the replication of the tragedy of the commons. If you see a job that needs to get done, that’s yours to do! Likewise, if you notice other people being busy, you should probably be busy too.
During your stay we will share templates and agreements for proper maintenance of the common spaces. Other needs of the place will be shared through digital tools like Miro, Google Drive and in a Telegram bot. Everyone will contribute to the needs of the place in a balanced way, which will be part of the micro-agreements.
Upon booking, we ask for a cash deposit of 50 euros per person which will be returned when participants leave their rooms and the common spaces cleaner than how they found it. When departing please take in mind to tidy and clean your room. You are kindly invited to remove your bedsheets and bring them in the laundry room. The last day before departure there is a group cleaning and you all are kindly invited to take part in the activities.
Communicate your travel schedule at least three days before departure so that we can make arrangements for someone to support you in leaving the village.
We do not use shoes inside the common spaces: bring some warm socks and outdoor shoes.
Bring your own working clothes and warm sweaters/jacket in winter and mosquito repellant & sunscreen in summer.
The village is not only hosting humans, but also 6 cats. They live outdoors, please communicate in advance if you have any kind of allergy to animals or problems in sharing outdoor common spaces with them.
